Intern Course

Certificate IV in ministry

(Leadership) 10647NAT

Working or volunteering demands a range of unique skills that are relevant for all individuals.

Our Cert IV introduces immediately applicable and transferable skills in leadership, public speaking, equipping, resilience, ethics, and evangelism. As well as understanding the bible, practical theology, pastoral care, self-management, and reaching and caring for people.

Join Berwick Church of Christ and you will learn from experienced and recognised ministry facilitators who will equip you for greater work or ministry effectiveness.

How does it work?

Students gather once a week for 1-2 hours at our premises. Students watch content online at their leisure and meet together with the facilitator to study and apply the material in context.

All courses include units that require practical ministry experience – so students get to serve and reflect on ministry areas they are passionate about.

Intern Stories

This internship has grounded me in my faith through a tight-knit caring community that allows you to learn from where you are. I have grown in my bible understanding, awareness of God in my everyday life and also simple things like prayer and reading the bible. My relationship with Jesus has been able to grow through the more I learn, the more I am able to rely upon and lean into God as my support. I would recommend this internship for the person out there who is seeking guidance on the simple things, but also the person who is questioning what God's plan is for their life. Glennie is a superstar facilitator that has supported and cared for us unconditionally.

The Internship program has given me a year with Jesus that has softened my heart in new ways and imparted skills I have always desired having. My life has been deeply enriched through connection with people from all stages of life, giving me a sense of belonging. I have grown in my understanding of scripture, how to apply it in new ways, and have had my worldview challenged. The practical ministry opportunities have birthed new friendships where I have been warmly embraced in a loving community (especially the Friendship Group). The significance of having people speaking into my life, as a mentor, coach and spiritual director. These people have generously given time to get to know me, challenge me, and spur me on towards to fullness of what Jesus has for me.

This year has become the building blocks I’ve now set in place to continue my Christian life into any workspace as my relationship with God as well as my understanding as I’ve taken responsibility for my faith. Initially, this year was to increase my knowledge of the Bible and figure out what the Christian walk meant to me. However, it’s been so much more. It’s been a life-changing experience where I’ve learned so much not only about God but also about myself and how I want to live my life with God. I would absolutely recommend this course. Whether it’s just something you’re curious about or what to take on ministry as your occupation this course provides both the knowledge and lifestyle needed to better yourself in many ways. Although I believe this course could better anyone I would particularly encourage new graduates as it’s a perfect opportunity to cement your faith before you enter the workplace and uni life.
