Time

The Kids Ministry roster operates on a two-week cycle i.e., two Sundays per month – this is to ensure continuity of ministry and give volunteers the opportunity to join church services.

• Team members volunteer from 9:20am until the completion of church service.
• Sign-in team (admin): 9:30am – until 10:30am on a two-week cycle
• Whole Team Vision Breakfast – first Sunday of each term
• Whole Team Gathering – once a term
• Occasionally, we will run specific Kids Events that will require the support team members.

Training

Volunteering is not only the giving of your time and effort to support and serve kids but it’s also a valuable leadership training opportunity for the personal growth and development of team members. With that in mind, we conduct ongoing team training and mentoring during weekly ministry sessions and offer specific ministry training/ discipleship sessions regularly.

Key Tasks

• Ministry team: Pre-ministry prayer time with leaders, overview, and delegation of roles for the day, set up of activities, pack up the room.
• Sign-in team: Set up sign-in area, warmly greet all kids and families, assist with registration of new families, print off name tags, and direct families to specific ministry rooms. 

Ongoing Support

Team members are well supported by their room leaders and pastor, and regular ministry updates and communications are through designated WhatsApp groups and emails.

Anyone desiring to be involved at the Church must be known by an Elder, Ministry Leader or member of Staff for at least six (6) months and have been in regular attendance at the Church for at least six (6) months, as detailed in our Volunteer Recruitment Policy (click here).

The Church will consider involving anyone as a volunteer or leader.  Individuals must, however, be able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Church, and may only be placed if their gifts and talents as volunteers or leaders match the needs of the Church.  No person who has a conflict of interest with any aspect of the Church will be accepted as a volunteer or leader.

A Pastor, or their delegate, will contact you to arrange an interview.  It may take us up to two weeks to follow you up, in exceptional circumstances, it may take longer. If you haven’t heard back in two weeks, please contact the church office on 9702 1011.

While you are waiting for your interview, please complete the Policy requirements as listed on the 'Policies Tab'.

Volunteers and leaders are expected to work within the policies and procedures of the Church, particularly the Code of Conduct, and adhere to its ethos.  As representatives of the Church, volunteers and leaders are responsible for presenting a positive image of the Church to the outside world.

As representatives of the Church, volunteers and leaders are expected to represent our values of being loving, humble, hopeful and serving.

• Training is an important part of serving in a ministry and you will be required from time to time to either attend a group session or complete individual online training.

Once you have completed all the requirements, a decision can be made on your involvement, and a Pastor or their delegate will contact you.
