Wayne Zschech | Event

14 August 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Wayne first moved to Ukraine in April 1993, just a week before his 18th birthday. His plan was to give God a year of his life before returning home to become a fighter pilot with the Royal Australian Air Force. God, however, had a better idea! Now more than 29 years later, Wayne is still there! Wayne’s wife, Olya, and their four sons, Mark and Matfei (twins aged 22), Nikita (12 years), and Timofei (6 years) are all Ukrainian.

Wayne is the Field leader for Operation Mobilisation in Ukraine. He has a vision for Community Transformation and his passion is to see Christian enterprises established to become catalysts of change in their communities.

Over the last years, Wayne’s efforts have been devoted to creating a pilot pyrolysis waste2fuel project. This could become a game changer for generating sustainable income and for discipleship through Ukraine and beyond.

Wayne was also the captain-coach of Ukraine’s first cricket team fielding locally born players.

As the impact of the Russian invasion deepens, there are amazing opportunities to partner with courageous Christians shining brightly for the Kingdom in Ukraine where history is being created before our very eyes.

OM has been operating in Ukraine since 1994.  Its mission is to graft a mission’s vision into the Body of Christ in Ukraine through Inspiring, equipping, and connecting.  OM has four permanent teams in Ukraine including an extensive network of partners throughout the country including the war-torn east where dozens of churches had been planted since 2014.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion on Feb 24th, 2022, OM in Ukraine teams have been very active in evacuations, sheltering, feeding displaced persons as well as bringing aid to the needy, especially in places of great need where Churches have played a very active role in the darkest moments of this terrible conflict. Our goal is to continue to help Churches be the hands and feet of Jesus. Now, more than 150 days into the war.

Join us to hear Wayne share his story.
