Future Church Now

YOUTH

Leadership is not just a matter of experience but a matter of obedience. It is God who qualifies us for influence, not age or just qualifications. Week one of our new series, Future Church Now!, is all about getting behind our youth as they step into all God has planned for them, particularly as young leaders of the church. Fuse Youth will be taking over the service as we hear inspiring testimonies and explore what the bible says about young people and influence. Adults, this service is also for you! Let’s discover how we as a church can support and invest in this younger generation.

KIDS

Of the 8 billion people in the world, 1.8 billion have been born since 2010. Generation Alpha (born 2010 to 2024) are already the second largest generation in the world, just behind the 1.9 billion Generation Z (born 1995 to 2009).” The two biggest generations of our age are the two youngest. What can we do as a church to transform their lives with the power of the gospel? In this service we will give you a snapshot of how we make a difference through Kids Ministry, Boys Brigade, Playgroup and Compassion International.

YOUNG ADULTS

The post-high school and pre-family season in life is where you have to figure out the strategies and values that will help you reach your dreams. In that sense it is a make-or-break season for many young people. How can you navigate your life towards a meaningful and fulfilling life? How can you discern God’s plan for your future? We will look into key biblical guidelines to be taken on board in this phase of life.

Don’t miss out!

Future Church Now…

Future Church Now…

Friday 2nd December 2022

Melbourne will take over Sydney to be Australia’s largest city in 2030

- MARK MCCRINDLE

We are in for ride here in Victoria. After the election where Premier Daniel Andrews won a third term in office we have fair clarity on the agenda that will drive decision making. This means we can find pathways to express our vision and our mission. No doubt there is a certain way in which Christianity is viewed by key influencers in government , but…we have the opportunity to posture ourselves in such a way that we can be seen as an asset to our city and not a detractor.

'When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. '

Proverbs 29:2 NIV

Our ability as His church to thrive where others flounder is what will set us apart. What is a biblical definition of thriving in an environment that is slipping more and more away from what we believe to be ideal values and morals? Let’s revisit the council given to Israel in their season of exile. I have taken liberty in rearranging its order to highlight key ideas in this:

'Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. '

Jeremiah 29:5-7,11 NIV

In other words:

  • Remain hopeful in terms of your future – God is still sovereign over us.
  • Our involvement in His purposes in our city is an investment in our city’s future.
  • Set up the next generation for Kingdom success.

It is with this in mind that we will create a window for our faith family through which we will peep into how we go about preparing the future church now. Do not miss the next three weeks…you are going to be richly blessed!
