House and Garden Christianity!

House and Garden Christianity!

Friday 13th January 2023

From Pinterest to TV shows, everyone wants to ‘show and tell’ how to have the perfect home or garden. It’s as if the message is inviting us to have a nice life in a nice suburb in a nice house with nice things all around. ‘House and Garden Christianity’ buys into the same thinking but we simply add in a nice church with some nice friends to our already nice lives.

Jesus however calls us not to a nice life but to ‘take up our cross and follow him’. It is a life full and overflowing filled with FAITH adventures, unshakeable HOPE, and radical LOVE.

Sunday Service | Our Reasons For Hope

This Sunday at 10am Ken Rayment will pick up Part 2 in our current series, Anchored in Hope. Discover 5 unchanging reasons for a hope that guards the mind, inspires endurance and enables us to step into God’s version of our future

Come early, grab a coffee and connect with others.

We would love to see you at 10am here at Berwick Church of Christ, 446 Centre Road, Berwick, Vic, 3806. If you can't make it, you can catch up on our YouTube channel.

Mental Health Support Gathering | Tuesday 17th January

The Mental Health Support Gatherings are a ministry of the Berwick Church of Christ. We have been serving our community with support for over 150 years. You may be interested or might want to refer someone you care about to this opportunity.

We have two discussion rooms:
• one for people who live with a mental health issue/s; and
• one for those who are caring for them.

These Gatherings are facilitated by Christians who wish to walk alongside people in their journey, loving and caring for them by providing a safe place to be heard and share life’s challenges together, offering friendship and hope. In addition, the Gatherings will provide tools to assist people in dealing with life, with specialist speakers addressing relevant topics.

The Mental Health Support Gatherings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

ALPHA | Wednesday, 1st February

WHAT IS ALPHA?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that create a safe and honest space, where people can explore life, faith and meaning.
Enjoy a meal with others, watch a video and have an open discussion and conversation in a friendly and non-judgemental environment.

CONNECT
Connecting with others is important; friends gathered around the kitchen table, meeting for coffee or catching up online. It’s no different at Alpha. All sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships – whether in person or virtually.

WATCH
The Alpha talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each one is around thirty minutes long and played as a video. They explore important issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

DISCUSS
One of the most important parts of any Alpha is the chance to share thoughts and ideas in small groups. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t share (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

The Jesus Apprenticeship | Sunday 5th February

Imagine if you were able to step back in time to where you could hear and see first-hand all that Jesus said and did – to follow in his footsteps day by day, in the actual order that it occurred; to experience what it was like as one of Jesus’ first disciples following the miracles, the teaching, and the drama – just as it happened.

Imagine if you could be equipped to not just follow Christ, but as one Jesus sends out to go and make disciples of others, to be a witness, to share the gospel, to heal the sick, to set people free, and to use your gifts to help others follow Christ.

The Jesus Apprenticeship beginning Feb 5th is being offered to those involved in the Clyde Church Plant. There are a limited number of extra spaces available for others who might be interested in future church planting. Please talk to Pastor Ken to discuss this further. Email Ken: [email protected]
