Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth

John 17:17 NIV

Jesus prayed for an immune system to be built up in the lives of his followers so that when they re-enter the world they would not be influenced by it, but instead have an influence on it. That immune system is a worldview formed by the Truth. You will therefore acknowledge why it is so important that the Truth is preached in our churches!

A church that steps away from the Truth steps away from its purpose.

That is why we consistently reference Christ as worthy to be followed as Lord and King and not merely appreciated as some kind of a good person. That is why we love others as He has loved us, and not merely as how we love ourselves. That’s why we posture ourselves as compassionate servants in our city, and not merely as a concerned crowd. That’s why we plant and grow faith communities and not just live like settlers in suburbia.

As the Truth gets hold of your worldview, you start to engage differently with your environment. You discover a bigger purpose to live for. Many Christians believe that the prize for salvation is going to heaven someday. This actually is a fundamentally flawed belief!

The primary reward in Christianity is Christ living in us NOW BY HIS SPIRIT…not going to heaven someday!

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

John 16:13 NIV

Waiting for heaven creates the illusion that we are still at a distance with God and need reconciliation in “phases” or “steps”. This is the lie of religion: You can gain intimacy with God through your own effort. Christ brought closeness! He cancelled the distance between us and God completely so that we can be His presence in every place! Listen to Jesus’ prayer for us:

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

John 17:20-21 NIV

We are to influence…not to be influenced!

Food Pantry | Our city needs our help!

Last year the Food Pantry supported 96 families with 231 visits who were in need of crisis support. 96 families! Imagine, they could be your friends or neighbours. Families who are doing it tough. The City of Casey Council recognised the generous support the Food Pantry and volunteers give to our local community. Council presented BCOC Food Pantry with the ‘Community Group of the Year’ award. Let’s reach out and show our support by purchasing something from our list in your next shop. You can drop it off in the Food Pantry basket located in the foyer, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or Sundays 9am-12 noon.

Let’s Love People and Serve Our City, and buy one item to be His presence in the City of Casey!

Sunday Service | The Body Of Christ 1

The body of Christ is “the Christ…embodied”. What does Christ mean? What does body mean in this context? It is way more than a humanitarian organisation or a religious institution. It gives Christ a body in which He can move and act as He establishes a Kingdom on earth that is known for the righteousness, peace and joy it carries. In this two week series, we’ll discover what the movement called the body of Christ is.

Men's Prayer Group | Sunday 11th June

The Men’s Prayer Group is a group of men who meet to pray together. The group meets at the church every Sunday evening. Where individuals spend time in prayer, worship, and fellowship together as men who walk together to seek the face of God. Starts 5.45pm.

Seniors Ministry | Wednesday 14th June

Be prepared to have your brain stretched as we delve into the world of amazing things! Is there something you find amazing that you can share with the Group? The Friendship Group meet in the Connect Lounge at 1.30pm to 4.00pm Please bring a plate for everyone to share.
