This weekend we will kick off the Daniel Dilemma series wherein we will discover the keys to survive and influence the culture we find ourselves in. We all are impacted by our culture, and we all need each other to stand on God’s truth while we love exceptionally well. We would need a strong sense of collective as well as individual identity as a faith community!

“Identity” must be one of the most referenced concepts of our day. When I grew up there was the idea that your identity is as much the product of your environment (nurture) as it was the product of your biological construct (nature). The discovery of your identity was an exciting part of your journey to adulthood. It was however quite treacherous. For example, individuals who experience identity fluidity may struggle to establish a stable sense of self, which can lead to feelings of confusion, anxiety, and insecurity. This may be especially challenging for young people who are still in the process of developing their sense of identity.

Then…culture changed, and culture – along with nature and nurture became an identity-forming power. We (humans) then apparently became able to carry multiple “identities” living in one individual next to each other ex: You can have a specific gender identity with another sexual identity that proposes a completely different online identity. Concepts that would have been an integrated whole a few years ago. The defining and integration of identity have become some of the biggest challenges of our day – but this is nothing new! It has been around since the fall of the Garden of Eden. It was through this very confusion about identity that the snake introduced the pathway to the fall:

For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God

Gen 3:5 NIV

The need to be identifiable made Eve completely miss her innate identity:

So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them.

Gen 1:27 NIV

Male and female was equally created in the image of God already! As Christ followers our identity has found a new anchor tenant if you may: the original, the Christ, the image of God!

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created,

Col 1:15 NIV

May we collectively see how Christ the creator defines our identity as we embark on the Daniel Dilemma series. We will get stronger together as we journey as a faith family through this!

Sunday Service | In the World but Not of It

This Sunday we start our church-wide series, The Daniel Dilemma. The primary objectives of the series are to “Raise and Equip Followers of Christ” and to “Love People”. The strategy we’ve employed is to go through a journey on truth and love by using the Daniel Dilemma series.

This will be reflected in our Big Church services, Life Groups, FUSE Youth and Kids’ Church. The series helps us learn to stand firm in God’s truth and love well with God’s love in the culture we live in. We will look to Jesus and Daniel as our examples.

Baptism Celebration | Sunday 30th April

Baptism is the complete immersion into water of those who have confessed their faith in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and their Saviour. However, it is more than just immersion in water. It has a number of significant meanings. Come along ready to hear testimonies of how people's lives have been changed.

Men's Prayer Group | Sunday 30th April

The Men’s Prayer Group is a group of men who meet to pray together. The group meets at the church every Sunday evening. Where individuals spend time in prayer, worship, and fellowship together as men who walk together to seek the face of God. Starts 5.45pm.

Boys Brigade | Monday 1st May

Be part of the action Monday night. For over 20 years the Boys Brigade has advanced Christ’s Kingdom among boys.
