In contemplating the essence of our human existence, we find guidance in the profound words of 1 Thessalonians 5:23:

“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

These verses remind us of the remarkable depth and interconnectedness of our being. We are not merely physical beings, but rather a fusion of body, soul, and spirit. It is within this intricate tapestry of our humanity that we discover the beauty and potential that lies within each of us.

First, let us consider our bodies, marvellous vessels that house our very existence. Our physical forms, with their intricate systems and capabilities, are wonders to behold. They enable us to experience the world, to engage with others, and to partake in the joys and challenges of life. Let us honor and care for our bodies, recognizing their inherent value and respecting the sacredness of this earthly dwelling.

'For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. '

Psalms 139:13-14 NIV

Next, we encounter the soul, the seat of our emotions, thoughts, and desires. It is the wellspring of our individuality and the source of our passions. Within our souls, we find our unique gifts, talents, and dreams. Let us nurture and cultivate the depths of our souls, embracing authenticity, self-awareness, and personal growth. In doing so, we unleash the truest expressions of our being and contribute to the richness of the human tapestry.

'Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. '

3 John 1:2 NIV

Finally, we come to the spirit, the part of us that connects us to God. Our spirits, fueled by faith and a longing for something greater, remind us that we are part of a grander story – “His-story”. It is through our spirit that we find meaning, purpose, and a profound sense of belonging. Let us nurture our spirit by following Christ, and so cultivate a deep relationship with the triune God.

'For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. '

2 Timothy 1:6-7 NIV

When we recognize and honor the interplay between body, soul, and spirit, we begin to understand the holistic nature of our anthropology. We embrace the call to live fully, to seek growth, and to make a positive impact in the world. Let us strive for the alignment of these aspects of our being, allowing the transformative power of faith, hope, and love through the Holy Spirit’s indwelling to shape us from within.

As we journey through life, may we remember that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Each one of us is a unique reflection of God, with our own stories, gifts, and journeys. Let us cherish the complexity and beauty of our humanity, and may the sanctifying work of God's peace permeate every aspect of our being.

Embrace your body, nurture your soul, and ignite your spirit. For in doing so, you unleash the fullness of your humanity and discover the extraordinary purpose that awaits you.

Activation Workshops – Ken Fish | Saturday 29th July

Ken is from Los Angeles and is the founder of Orbis Ministries. Has ministered extensively in Australia as well as over 50 other countries. Ken has been involved in equipping the people of God for supernatural ministry for more than thirty years. Ken leads conferences on envisioning, leadership, Prophecy, Healing, Inner Healing, Deliverance, Sexual Brokenness, Signs and Wonders, and Hearing God’s voice. He has a humorous, laid-back style that lends itself to helping others become “naturally supernatural.”

Ken will be running two Activation Workshops on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and he will speak at our public Sunday 10am morning service.

The Sunday morning service is open to anyone, including those wanting prayer for healing or freedom.

The Activation workshop is a training event, especially for leaders and those with a heart to minister healing and freedom to others. Booking for the workshop is essential and numbers are limited.
