Our local faith communities as missional initiatives

Our local faith communities as missional initiatives

Wednesday 6th December 2023

At BCOC and Clyde Church, everything we do is to increase the impact of our local church as a missional community. As this footprint of influence grows, we are being transformed into a growing movement. Guided by the teachings of Christ, our purpose transcends the walls of our auditorium, reaching into the depths of our hearts and to the very corners of our city.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissions us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to obey everything He has commanded. Our church embodies this mission, dedicated to nurturing a community that follows Christ. Through Sunday services and small groups, we equip each other to embrace Christ’s teachings and emulate His love.

Love is the cornerstone of our community. As stated in John 13:34-35, Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us. Our church family extends beyond mere acquaintances; it is a bond forged in genuine care and compassion. We strive to exemplify Christ’s love by supporting, comforting, and uplifting each other, reflecting His transformative love to the world.

Service is ingrained in our identity. Galatians 5:13 reminds us to serve one another humbly in love. Our church actively engages in service initiatives, recognising the needs of our city. On the back of this, we received some media coverage on Channel 9 on the Saturday evening news at 6 pm. Through our outreach programs like Boys Brigade, Living Springs Counselling Centre, Food Pantry, and Playgroup, we serve our City beyond just Sunday Service attendees.

Moreover, we are committed to fostering growth, not only in our personal faith but also in our faith communities. Ephesians 4:15-16 urges us to grow more like Christ, united and growing together. Our church provides a nurturing environment for spiritual growth, where individuals flourish in their relationship with God and one another. Small groups, mentorship, and discipleship programs nurture this growth, cultivating vibrant, supportive communities within our church.

As a missional community, our impact extends far beyond our congregation. We are committed to transforming lives, healing brokenness, and spreading the Gospel’s transformative power.

Let us continue to walk this transformative journey together, guided by Scripture and fuelled by our dedication to follow Christ’s example. As a missional community, may we shine brightly, illuminating the path for others to find faith, love, and purpose in Christ.

Sunday Service | Becoming His Presence in Every Place | 10th December | 10 am

BCOC is a missional community whose footprint of influence is growing as we are being transformed into a movement. As our impact reaches far beyond our congregation, guided by Scripture, we shine brightly, illuminating the path for others to find faith, love, and purpose. Christ guides us by His teaching as we walk this transformative journey together. Let us continue being His presence in every place.
