The Transformative Power of Christ’s Leadership
Wednesday 12th June 2024
Creating space for God to lead us through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is essential for experiencing true transformation. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, promises to guide us with love and care. In John 10:27-28, He declares,
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
This assurance highlights the safety and security found in following Christ.
Our relationship with Jesus is not about religious rituals but an intimate, daily walk with Him. James 4:8 encourages us,
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”
This mutual drawing signifies a deepening relationship where we become attuned to God’s voice and direction. As we draw closer to Him, we reflect His love and grace in our interactions with others.
The Apostle Paul also emphasizes the transformation that comes from allowing Christ to lead us. In Romans 12:2, he writes,
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
This transformation renews our minds, enabling us to discern and align with God’s will, which is inherently good and perfect.
By making space for God, we invite the Holy Spirit to work within us, shaping our thoughts, actions, and decisions. Galatians 5:22-23 describes the fruit of the Spirit as
“love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
These attributes become evident as we surrender to Christ’s leadership.
In conclusion, creating space for God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is transformative. It leads us to a deeper understanding of His love, a renewed mind, and a life that bears the fruit of the Spirit, reflecting His character to the world.
From the Governance Committee
We are excited to inform you that the Church is working on an important project … the development of our Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS)! By developing and formalising our safety processes, the Church commits to ensuring you are safe.
What is a WHSMS you say? A WHSMS is a set of policies, procedures and plans that systematically manages health and safety and can help to minimise the risk of injury and illness from Church operations.
A systems-based approach is effective in protecting people from harm and meeting safety goals. Your safety at the Church is the absolute priority and a WHSMS can support us to provide you a safe place by:
- Ever evolving and continuously improving
- Using feedback to manage and improve safety related outcomes
- Building on existing health and safety processes
- Integrating with other management systems
- Providing more informed decision making
- Strengthening culture and demonstrating due diligence
The WHSMS is designed in line with The Australian Standard, AS/NZS ISO 45001: 2018 (Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use).
We encourage questions or feedback about the WHSMS – email [email protected].
Please don’t hesitate to contact Karen Fletcher at the Church Office (9702 1011) should you wish to have a chat.
