Building a Movement
The Church and the Kingdom of God
The church, established by Christ, is not merely a religious institution but a powerful movement that is transforming lives and spreading the influence of the Kingdom of God. Jesus Himself proclaimed,
“I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"
Matthew 16:18
This Sunday, we will explore how Christ is building this movement and how the church can experience breakthroughs in its calling to spread the influence of the Kingdom of God in every place and in every possible way.
'And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.'
Ephesians 1:22-23 NIV
The Foundation of the Church:
The foundation of the church is Jesus Christ Himself (1 Corinthians 3:11). He is the cornerstone upon which the church is built, and it is through Him that the church derives its purpose, identity, and power. We follow Him as our “commander in chief”!
The Great Commission:
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus entrusted His followers with the Great Commission, instructing them to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). The church is called to be a witness and carry the good news of His Kingdom to the ends of the earth.
The Power of the Holy Spirit:
The church is empowered by the Holy Spirit, who equips and enables believers to fulfil their mission. Jesus promised the disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them, empowering them to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8). The church continues to rely on the Holy Spirit's guidance and empowerment to spread the influence of the Kingdom of God.
Unity in Diversity:
The church is a diverse body of believers, united by their faith in Christ. Despite differences in culture, language, background, and peripheral theological issues the church is called to be a unified community, reflecting the truth and love of God (Ephesians 4:4-6).
Multiplication and Discipleship:
The church is called to multiply and raise and equip followers of Christ, not just gather in a physical location. As followers of Christ, we are called to replicate ourselves, investing in others and equipping them to do the same (2 Timothy 2:2).
The church, as a movement, is called to carry on the mission of Jesus Christ, spreading the influence of the Kingdom of God to every place and every person. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the church continues to transform lives, bring hope, and build communities of love and faith. As followers of Christ, let us embrace our role in this movement, fulfilling the Great Commission, and living out the values and principles of the Kingdom of God. Together, we can impact the world and extend the reach of God's love to every corner of the earth.

The Men’s Prayer Group is a group of men who meet to pray together. The group meets at the church every Sunday evening. Where individuals spend time in prayer, worship, and fellowship together as men who walk together to seek the face of God. Starts 5.45pm.

Mental Health Support Gathering | Tuesday 18th July
The Mental Health Support Gatherings is a ministry of the Berwick Church of Christ. We have been serving our community with support for over 150 years. You may be interested or might want to refer someone you care about to this opportunity.
We have two discussion rooms:
• one for people who live with a mental health issue/s; and
• one for those who are caring for them.
The Mental Health Support Gatherings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Activation Workshops – Ken Fish | Saturday 29th July
Ken is from Los Angeles and is the founder of Orbis Ministries. Has ministered extensively in Australia as well as over 50 other countries. Ken has been involved in equipping the people of God for supernatural ministry for more than thirty years. Ken leads conferences on envisioning, leadership, Prophecy, Healing, Inner Healing, Deliverance, Sexual Brokenness, Signs and Wonders, and Hearing God’s voice. He has a humorous, laid-back style that lends itself to helping others become “naturally supernatural.”
Ken will be running two Activation Workshops on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and he will speak at our public Sunday 10am morning service.
The Sunday morning service is open to anyone, including those wanting prayer for healing or freedom.
The Activation workshop is a training event, especially for leaders and those with a heart to minister healing and freedom to others. Booking for the workshop is essential and numbers are limited.

Exploring Partnership is an important step in discovering how you can fit into Berwick Church of Christ. It is an orientation towards what makes us unique and how we function as a community. You will get to know the leadership and we will talk about how you can partner with us to make our vision a reality.
