Living for something bigger

Living for something bigger

The year 2020 will go down in history as a year that has shaken the globe in many ways. It truly was a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment mankind found itself. It led to riots, power tussles, economic crises and even struggles for survival. In the midst of all this we as His church have such a crucial role to represent Him in every place! Be reminded by our visionary scripture:

“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."
Ephesians 1:22-23 NIV

In studying this scripture over the past season I came across the “Mirror” translation of it:

“Infinitely above all the combined forces of rule, authority, dominion or governments; he is ranked superior to any name that could ever be given to anyone of this age or any age still to come in the eternal future. I want you to see this: he subjected all these powers under his feet. He towers head and shoulders above everything. He is the head; the church is his body. The completeness of his being that fills all in all resides in us! God cannot make himself more visible or exhibit himself more accurately."
Eph 1:21- 23 The Mirror

The magnificence of Christ is superior to anything else! When was the last time you declared: “Lord, You are above all things in my life…and my life is submitted to You!” ?

With all things being challenged by this season it is great to know that He wants to use us to fill all things with His presence. We are part of His grand solution for mankind. This is why we can align our lives in the most accurate way to be part of His processes here on earth… Simply stated: As a body is commanded by its head…so we are led by Him to express His will here on earth.

As we are in a season of restoring His pre-eminence in our lives practically, we should embrace transformation in every area of our existence. This all starts by following Christ on a practical daily basis! This coming weekend we will be discovering with Pastor Graeme Cann how to “Handle haunting hurts” that wants to keep us stuck in our past and disqualify us to walk in the spirit and follow Christ.

The “Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020”

There is an ominous process currently wherein laws are being put before the State Parliament to prevent certain expressions of ministry towards the LGBTIQ+ community. As we stated we would love to address this in our service this coming weekend. Due to several reasons we have decided to move the date of speaking into this to the 31st of January during our onsite service only. Should you want to hear wise counsel about this issue, please make sure to book your spot in our Vision Sunday service as seats are limited. Click here to book now.

Intern program

As part of our mission to raise leaders for the future we are running a pilot program wherein we will develop an Intern Program for the future. It consists of Practical Ministry Training, a Certificate IV in Christian Ministry, a Church of Christ intern program, as well as a City Changers Learning Community program.  Glennie Eades will facilitate this for us with three wonderful young adults already signed up. If you would like to help sponsor this pilot program financially please feel free to contact Mat Daniels in this regard.

Baptisms

Sunday the 7th of February is not only the starting date of the campaign but it is also a baptism Sunday. We are looking forward to celebrating this great faith step with Christ immediately after the service. Please contact Michael Rojales by this coming Monday  should you want to be baptised.

Transformed campaign – Begins Feb 7th

As we trust God for restoration from the Covid-19 impact on our lives we embark on this process to bring the whole of our lives under His rule again. You can enrol on our website as a participant/host for this process. This can be the most impactful 50 days of your life if you engage with this deeply. Please visit our website for more information! Visit here.

Social media activity

The past year our Social Media (Youtube/Facebook/Instagram) activity has made big strides forward. As our onsite gatherings gain momentum the role of Social Media will continue but be modified. This will free up some time for our social media team to start working on some new and exciting projects with an eye on the future…more of this later. Please make sure you “like” us on Facebook, “follow” us on Instagram and “subscribe” and click the bell on YouTube in order to be up to date with all things that are happening…and some of those inspirational testimonies that will come your way!

Kids ministry back in full swing on the 31st of January

We will have our Kids Ministry running at full capacity as from Sunday the 31st of January. Please make sure you have booked in your family in order for us to prepare as well as possible for your attendance. Talking about Kid’s ministry – The board of elders are making a pro-active decision to remove the Wonder Kids (play group) building from our premises. While doing maintenance we became aware that there is some asbestos in the building and decided to take the safe route of removing the whole building before any possible risk could arise.

The latest Covid 19 guidelines for attending church

There are two changes made to the previous guidelines:

  1. Face Masks, you are still required to carry a face mask and the face mask is strongly recommended to be worn when anyone can’t maintain 1.5 metres distance from other people and when singing.
  2. Food & Drink – No food, drink, crockery, utensils, vessels or other equipment is permitted to be shared by participants.

Thank you for being His Presence in Every Place!
